Marapachi Bommai is a traditional doll carved from wood by our local expert artisans. It appears dark red, as it has given red sandalwood finishing. These dolls play a major role in the Golu festival celebrated in South India. At that ceremony, they are seen as incarnations of Vishnu and his consort Lakshmi Devi. During the festival, these toys are traditionally presented to the daughter by her mother.
