Description

The fig tree grows up to 10 to 30 ft (3-9 m) high, with numerous spreading branches and a trunk rarely more than 7 in (17.5 cm) in diameter. It contains copious milky latex. Seeds of fig may look large, medium, small or minute and range in number from 30 to 1,600 per fruit. The fig tree is an attractive crooked trunk, and it spreads like a crown, but it has no aerial roots like a banyan.

The unique feature of this tree is that its red and furry figs are growing out of the body of the tree. The fig is a compartment that carries hundreds of flowers. The flowers are pollinated by small wasps inside of the fruit, and the fig trees can’t be able to reproduce by seed.
