Description
Dronapushpi is Sanskrit another name of a plant called Leucas cephalotes. It is a great medicinal herb that grows as a weed in India and many Southeast Asian countries. The state use of this herb is for treating scorpion stings, snake bite, cough, fever etc. The whole plant has fever-reducing and insecticidal properties. It is applied externally on snake bites and scorpion stings.
Health Benefits
It has many medicinal properties such as antimicrobial, insecticidal, fever-reducing, larvicidal, and inflammation-reducing properties. It treats skin diseases. Juice extracted from this leaves is given for malarial fever. In some parts of India, the decoction made from the whole plant is given for curing fever. It also eliminates toxins from the body. The Powder is used externally for skin diseases and swelling. The decoction is recommended for cold and cough.
Scorpion Sting
For curing scorpion sting, an extract of this plant is used both internally and externally. Few drops of Thumbai leaves juice are mixed with honey and consumed orally.
Snake Bite
It is customary for all folk doctors to inject some drops of this herb juice into the snake bite. For this purpose, the juice of the leaves is extracted and mixed twice with water and placed into the nostril for 3-4 days after being converted into diluted juice.
Skin diseases
Dronapushpi plants have the ability to eliminate toxins from the body and are very effective in treating most skin diseases.
In addition to the juice of Dronapushpi, its whole plant is used in the treatment of skin diseases. The plant should be dried in the sun and then mixed with five grams of dry powder in 2 glasses of water along with three grams of neem leaves. Then boil it until its full size is reduced to one-fourth. Then drain it and take it twice a day.
Abnormally high bleeding during menstruation
Wash the leaves of the plant with clean water and mix well with lemon juice and sesame oil. This blend can be consumed daily on the empty stomach every morning for a week.
Asthma, colds, and coughs
Drinking the powder of this plant in 1-3 tbsp of coffee water will cure colds, coughs, and asthma.
Cough, leucorrhoea
For this type of disorder, the leaves of the plant are cooked and eaten with rice. This herb is used as a remedy for headaches, coughs, runny nose, sinusitis, congestion, nausea, and migraines. The flowers of this plant are also medicinal, so they are heated in sesame oil and applied to the head.
Allergies
The leaves are boiled with two glasses of water and boiled in a cup of coffee water until reduced by one-fourth.
